This workshop is aimed at musicians of any style who want to know the particularities of the composition for soundtrack and at the same time participate in the collective creation of a live one. Free improvisation tools will be used.

Content

One of the main objectives of this workshop is the development of imagination, sensory breadth, musical disinhibition, and the empowerment of the capacities of reflection, self-criticism and teamwork.

Program:

– Welcome.

– Sharing the human, musical and sound resources that we have in our group to take advantage of the potentialities of the experiences, experiences and aptitudes of the people attending.

– Viewing of audiovisual material.

– Conceptual approaches about the contents and narrative of the audiovisual, as well as the implications of the interrelations between sound and image.

– Practice of the fundamental concepts and techniques of free improvisation and its conduction.

– Obtaining sound material through improvisatory procedures. Analysis of the results.

– Structuring of the ideas selected in a scheme, as starting references.

– General rehearsal for live performance.

– Public performance (Samples).


MIGUEL GIL

Miguel has been professor of audiovisual composition at the High Conservatory in Asturias and TAI.
He also teaches at CES Don Bosco and European University, as well as training courses at more than 30 institutions in Spain and Indonesia.

Doctor in Music Sciences from the UAM. Summa Cum Laude in composition by Berklee College of Music (Boston). Master in Carnatic Music at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam.

Villa de Madrid Award, Broadcasting Art by RNE and Madrid Abierto- Altadís Foundation. Rome Prize of the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.
As a composer and producer he has worked with: National Ballet of Cuba, National Drama Centre, Cadena Cuatro, TVE, El Deseo and numerous theatre companies.
As interpreter he has played since the 80’s with tours of Pop and Rock, Jazz and improvised music in festivals and halls all over Spain.
His concert music has been premiered in: University of Hong Kong, Ysbreker (Amsterdam), Aspen Music Festival (USA), Instituto Cervantes (UK) as well as numerous concert halls in Italy and Spain.

 

JORGE CABADAS

Founding member of the FOCO Orchestra and Music Rare Orchestra, from the collective Rare Musics. He has premiered in Madrid, Paris, Rome and Avignon (Festival Off).
Author of music for short films, dance, audiovisuals, advertising and cinema, he is the winner with his own group, SAKI, of the Jazz Festival of the Community of Madrid.
Teacher of guitar, harmony, improvisation or combo in Artemúsica, Taller de Músicos, CEMM (Fuenlabrada), Liceo de la Voz, Escuela de Música Creativa, EMM Maestro Barbieri, EMM Isaac Albéniz, Escuela Qué Arte and Laboratorio de Música Eléctrica, founded and directed by him with his own pedagogical system. Author of three books on Modern Harmony.
With a career of more than thirty years, he has studied at the Conservatory of Madrid, with Ángel Blanco, Santiago Reyes, Pedro Iturralde, Edward Goltz, John Abercrombie and Bill Dobbins.
Free music at CEDI with Pedro López and Belma Martín and with Peter Kowald and Eddie Prévost Guitarrista, composer, arranger and musical director of the French company Théâtre de la Mandragore, with whom he has premiered and toured various musical plays. In France he has also written music, arranged and directed for Kat-Kat z’Art Thèâtre and Thèâtre de Menteur; and in Spain he has done it for Chikivitrueke Teatro.
